James utilizes his 25 years of cross-industry experience in software development and leadership to direct the technical teams at PureWeb. He focuses on translating business strategy into technology strategy and guiding his team to strengthen and improve the technology underpinning PureWeb’s interactive 3D streamlining solution.
Julie is the Senior Director of People Operations at PureWeb. Julie focuses on empowering employees and giving them the resources they need to deliver value to PureWeb customers.
Since joining PureWeb in 2012, Julie has worked in several roles in engineering and research & development before shifting into people operations. As a natural people person, she combines her comprehensive understanding of interactive 3D technology with her passion about people to foster the culture needed to solve customer challenges and support innovative product development at PureWeb.
Chris is the VP of Product Development at PureWeb. In his role, he is responsible for leading the integrated Product Management and Software Development organization, ensuring that PureWeb’s technical capabilities always stay ahead of customer expectations and market demands. He is focused on developing, strengthening, and scaling PureWeb’s overarching technology solution in order to maximize value to customers.
Abdul is the Vice President of Business Operations at PureWeb. In his role, Abdul keeps the company connected and operational, whether at home or in the office, and ensures PureWeb and its partners’ technology complies with regulatory requirements in Canada and operating locations around the world.
Since joining PureWeb in 2012, Abdul has occupied several roles in business operations and project management, giving him a 360-degree view of how PureWeb translates powerful graphics technology into powerful interactive 3D experiences. Prior to joining PureWeb, Abdul worked for over 12 years in technical product management and customer relationship management.
Candy is the Marketing Director at PureWeb. In her role, she focuses on articulating the unique value PureWeb’s solution delivers to its customers by developing and implementing the company’s brand and marketing strategy.
Candy brings over 10 years of experience in brand marketing, go-to-market strategy, product marketing, content development, and campaign execution. She takes pride in communicating PureWeb’s mission to maximize business interactions in online digital environments to create business value and deepen relationships. This aligns with her passion for constantly improving and finding connection points between customers and businesses.
Connor Aylwin is the Director of Sales at PureWeb. With his background guiding organizations through transformations, Connor is highly experienced at using technology to improve the way companies interact with their teams and customers. He is passionate about reimagining the customer journey—he works closely with executives across industries to demonstrate how the use of immersive virtual realities can powerfully change the way they engage with their customers.
A radiologist by training, Dr. Fong is an active seed investor in start-up companies and is widely credited for launching the Rockies site of Creative Destruction Lab. He was invested into the Order of Canada in 2017 for his contribution to medical technology innovation and for his philanthropic activities. Chen was inducted into the Alberta Business Hall of Fame and is a recipient of an Honorary Doctor of Laws degree from the University of Calgary.
Laurie is a serial entrepreneur who has launched and led several companies to successful exits. His first business, Datum Telegraphic, generated one of the highest returns ever in BC for an angel-backed company. Laurie was the executive chair for both Partnerpedia (acquired by BMC Software) and Recon Instruments (acquired by Intel). Both deals provided handsome returns to their investors. He currently invests, sits on the board, and chairs a number of Western Canadian technology companies.
Dr. Cannon is president emerita of the University of Calgary after serving as president and vice chancellor from 2010-2018. Previously, she was dean of the Schulich School of Engineering. Dr. Cannon’s received many honours including an NSERC Steacie Award and Engineers Canada Gold Medal. She is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada, Canadian Academy of Engineering, and is an elected foreign associate of the National Academy of Engineering. Named one of Canada’s Top 100 Most Powerful Women, she has five honorary degrees and was named an Officer of the Order of Canada. She’s a member of the Board of Trustees of the Aga Khan University, a Fellow of the Creative Destruction Lab – Rockies, and a Director of the Gairdner Foundation and the Rideau Hall Foundation.
Janet Wood is a retired executive whose rewarding career included leadership roles with major technology companies--IBM, Crystal Decisions, Business Objects, and finally, SAP. After joining SAP in 2008, Janet's roles included Global HR leader for the Office of the CEO, Global Head of Talent and Leadership, EVP of Global Strategic Partners, and EVP of Global Maintenance Go To Market. At Business Objects, she worked as SVP of Global Partnerships. She was VP of Business Development at Crystal Decisions and held various management positions during her 16 years at IBM. She currently serves on the board of various commercial and not-for-profit organizations.
A 35-year veteran of the high-tech industry, Gary has led some of the web’s most innovative companies. Prior to co-founding Wisdom LLP, Gary was CEO of iPass (NASDAQ: IPAS) as well as President of Products and Operations at WebEx. He was also co-founder/CEO of Everdream Corporation and co-founder/CEO at HEAT.net.
Gary has served on the board of directors for several private and public companies. He is currently an advisor to two private equity funds: Parthenon Capital and Day View Capital.
Jan Cerny is Managing Director of ATB Private Equity, LP. In the past, he served as Vice President and Director of Corporate Development.
He brings over 20 years of experience within the finance, energy, industrials, and technology sectors.
Jan spent over five years in Equity Research and Capital Markets focused on the Canadian energy sector. He currently sits on the boards of several private companies and nonprofits.
Jan holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Calgary and is a member of the Chartered Professional Accountants of Alberta.
