Content and Social Marketing Manager

PureWeb’s patented smart streaming technology enables anyone to publish, collaborate and interact with massive data files, including photo-realistic 3D simulations, configurators and game engine projects - the kind of which power games like Fortnite and now being used across industries and enterprise use-cases. Our live collaboration and interactive streaming solutions are scalable and efficient, providing simple accessablity while protecting the security of our customers’ data.

As a fast-growing Calgary-based startup, anticipating major growth within enterprise opportunities, we’re looking to hire our first full-time content / social marketing manager. If you are a creative, data-driven marketer with experience in startup or online media environments, B2B tech, content creation and social media management, we encourage you to apply and include a nifty cover letter outlining how and why you see yourself creating amazing marketing content at PureWeb:


You will:

  • Help identify and develop key buyer personas across PureWeb products and the messaging matrix across the customer journey

  • Craft our content marketing and social media plans, including targeted strategies for each individual channel, including blog, Medium, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and wherever else you learn that our audiences live and play

  • Conceptualize, create and publish a wide-variety of content in various formats for different channels, including articles, guides, whitepapers, social posts, short video and more

  • Work with Marketing Director, external agencies, designers and freelancers to develop and test new content formats and campaigns, especially in the areas of live video, motion/animation and interactive content

  • Assist in planning and managing our paid social advertising spend and budget

  • Write and edit impactful copy across a variety of channels, including web, email, and social 

  • Work within our MarTech stack, including automation, social media management, community and video tools

  • Shape PureWeb’s editorial guidelines, brand voice and tone

  • Remain creative, curious and committed to delivering results - never settling for average or just a few ‘likes’

To apply, you should bring a mix of the following to demonstrate your readiness to step into this content marketing and social media engagement role.

  • Minimum 5 years marketing experience (with at least 2 years within B2B) in one or more of the following areas: technology/software, startup, media + publishing, and/or agency background; preference given to candidates with marketing experience in either cloud-based software/services, collaboration and/or visualization software, marketing to either AEC, automotive, real estate and/or gaming industries

  • At least 3 years experience managing social media and content channels either in-house or on behalf of clients

  • Experience working with creative leaders, designers, videographers and external writers

  • Understand that effective marketing today is a conversation and two-way dialogue with your audience, rather than a lecture or gaudy sales pitch

  • Exceptional writer and communicator, with expertise in modern media trends and ability to adapt styles and tone for different channels

  • Keep our website updated with energizing copy, content, interactive elements and A/B test what works, and what doesn't

  • Lead the company's fearless foray into new, exciting modern media channels and engagement opportunities, including podcast, live streaming and online courses

  • Familiarity with a variety of marketing tools and technologies, including reporting/analytics, content creation/management, project management, automation tools and more

  • Relevant undergraduate degree or diploma in marketing, communications, journalism, PR or broadcasting

  • A positive addition to our high-functioning culture
