The amount of images being generated in healthcare today is growing at an extremely rapid pace. In fact, over the past five years, it is estimated that PACS storage requirements in U.S. hospitals grew at a rate of more than 20 percent per year. Healthcare professionals rely on images from ultrasounds, x-rays, and MRIs to create treatment plans for their patients. Unfortunately, because of multiple IT systems with different interfaces, it can be very time consuming to locate a specific study. If they can’t get timely access to images, it affects the overall level of care they can provide.
